Bedmobils Ltd Rental Terms

Licence
All our New Zealand camper vans can be driven with a normal car licence which must be produced when collecting the camper van in New Zealand and carried with you at all times while driving. Most overseas licences are accepted as long as they are written in English characters or accompanied by an English translation (available from your local Automobile Association) or an International Driver Licence.

Minimum Driving Age
The minimum age to drive our New Zealand camper vans for hire and rent is 18 years.

Rental Calculation
When calculating the number of days a New Zealand camper van is rented, the day of pick-up of the camper is counted as day one of the rental period, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the camper van’s return is counted as the final day of the rental period. When a rental period moves from one season into the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

Deposit
An initial non refundable deposit as itemised on the final invoice will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and Mastercard.
In addition a non refundable secondary supplier deposit of 25% of the remaining balance will be secured at the time of reservation confirmation directly by the Supplier, (with a minimum of NZD 350.00 in high season or NZD 250.00 in low season) This is deducted from the final balance payable.
The final balance will be paid when you pick up the vehicle on arrival in New Zealand. Please ensure that you have all funds available on your nominated credit card at the required times. The Supplier accepts Visa, Mastercard, Bank transfers, Western union transfers and cash.

Early Returns
Once the hire of the New Zealand camper van has commenced, there are no refunds for early returns. If you must return home early for an emergency, we can supply you with a letter for your travel insurance confirming that the Zealand camper van was returned early.

Rental Extension
If the hirer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, authorization from the Supplier, must be obtained first. This is subject to availability.

Late Return
Failure to obtain authorization will result in a daily fee of NZ $79.00 in addition to the current daily rental rate.

Vehicle Return
All camper vans have to be brought back to Auckland to the place and at the time agreed on by both parties at the commencement of the hire. The Supplier reserves the right to charge a set amount for late returns.

Diesel Tax Recovery
Diesel is cheaper at the fuel stations in New Zealand than petrol because diesel is not taxed at source. New Zealand Government charges people driving a diesel-powered vehicle tax through 'Road User Charges'. The diesel tax is calculated on a per kilometer basis and collected at the end of the hire period at a rate of NZ 3.90 per 100 km.
Note: Rates are subject to change.

Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.

Security Bond
Full Cover Motor Vehicle Insurance. The Supplier will require the Hirer to leave a Security Bond to cover the cost of the excess for your vehicle. The excess is dependent on the Hirers age:
25 years and over - NZ $ 1050.00
21-24 years - NZ $ 1600.00
18-20 years - NZ $ 2100.00 (or if the driver does not hold a full driver licence for 12 month preceding the date of loss/ damage.

Insurance - Full Cover
Full Cover Motor Vehicle Insurance is included in our daily rates. The insurance excess is dependent on age.
 

NZ 1,050.00	25 years and over
NZ 1,600.00	21 - 24 years
NZ 2,100.00	18- 20 years or if the driver does not hold a full driver licence for 12 month preceding the date of loss/damage

Excess
The insurance excess as well as the reduction of the insurance excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time of the accident not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if recovering the cost of damages from the third party is successful. Please note that third party claims can take months to resolve.

The insurance excess will be refunded, if the camper is returned with no damage to the camper, third party or third party property as well as a clean interior and full fuel tanks (Petrol, Diesel and Gas in Cooker) brought back to the right place at the right time. Failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tank as well as gas in cooker will result in refill charges. Petrol and Diesel refill charges will be advised upon return of vehicle

Please see the "Exclusions" section below whereby all excess reduction cover will be made void..

Exceptions to Insurance
All excess reduction cover will be made void and the hirer is liable for the whole damage in the below cases:

1. The driver of the vehicle is under the influence of alcohol or any drug that affects his/her ability to drive the vehicle.

2. The vehicle is in an unsafe or unroadworthy condition/s and the hirer or driver was aware or ought to have been aware of the unsafe or unroadworthy condition/s of the vehicle.

3. The vehicle is operated in any race, speed test, rally or contest.

4. The hirer is not a body corporate or department of State and the vehicle is driven by any person not named in the 'Rental Agreement'.

5. The vehicle is driven by any person who at the time of driving the vehicle is disqualified from holding or has never held a licence appropriate for that vehicle.

6. The vehicle is wilfully or recklessly damaged by the hirer or any other person named in clause 3 of the agreement or driving the vehicle under the authority of the hirer, or is lost as a result of the wilful or reckless behaviour of the hirer or any such person.

7. The vehicle is operated on any of the prohibited roads as set out in the 'Rental Agreement'.

8. The vehicle is operated outside the term of the hire or any agreed extension of that term.

9. No water related damage is covered, which includes but is not limited to:

a) any vehicle submersion b) creek or river crossing c) driving through low plain flooded areas

10. Personal belongings are not covered. We recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle.

11.The incorrect use of fuel (diesel or petrol) is not covered. The hirer will be responsible for any associated cost.

Infringements
 The Supplier reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking fines including associated administration costs and/or accident damage including third party property damage not reported on return of the camper van.

Breakdowns - AA Roadside Assistance
All vehicles are maintained to the highest standard and are thoroughly checked after every hire. The Supplier provides a 24hour, 7day emergency AA free call number to deal with breakdowns. Any problems associated with the hired camper van must be reported to the Supplier as soon as possible but within 24 hours in order to give the Supplier the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental.

Repairs
Repairs on the camper van of up to NZ 50.00 may be effected without authorization and will be reimbursed by the Supplier as long as the damage has not been caused by the hirer, driver or any other person. For amounts over NZ 50.00 the Supplier will need to be informed in advance and has to give authorization. GST receipts must be submitted for any repairs done to receive reimbursement.

Cancellation
The initial deposits paid are non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposits, the following charges also apply:
63 days before commencement of hire - no extra Cancellation Fees
62-33 days before commencement of hire - 50% of the total balance remaining
32-0 days before commencement of hire (or no show) - 100% of the total balance remaining

90 Mile Beach (Top of the North Island). Beach Road only. The sealed road up to Cape Reinga can be drive

Exchange Rates / Currency Variations
All credit card transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations and/or bank transactions fees there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. The Supplier does not accept any liability for variances up or down.

Total Loss
If for any reason beyond the control of the Supplier, the reserved camper van cannot be supplied on pick-up a substitute will be offered. Should a substitute not be available the liability of the Supplier is limited to a full refund of monies received.

Note:Illustrations and text in any of our brochure or website are a representation only of the vehicle depicted. Variances in the vehicles offered for rental occur due to their individuality, modifications, substitutions and/or upgrades to the vehicle design. Terms and Conditions as well as rates are subject to change without notice. The Supplier reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion.

Smoking
Bedmobils New Zealand camper van hire and camper van rentals are a smoke-free zone.

Cleaning Fees
Vehicles must be returned on time at the agreed place, clean and with sanitary holding tanks empty (when hiring a chemical toilet). If the vehicle is returned in unsatisfactory condition - at the Suppliers discretion - grooming fees will apply. This is dependent on the condition of the vehicle.

Terms of booking on this website

Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
